Did you know that what we dreamed of and played at most as children can be clues to the purpose for our lives?
Not too long ago I read "When a Woman Discovers Her Dream" by Cindi McMenamin, which I highly recommend to every woman, no matter what age. In it the author begins by saying that, "There are two kinds of people when it comes to discovering one's dream. Those who dare to dream. And those who've given up."
She goes on to explain how your dream may be hidden beneath layers of wounds or forgotten in the midst of life's responsibilities, or even abandoned because of frustration or uncertainty.
One of the things I like about the book is that the author gives practical ways to use clues in discovering the 'thing you were made for', or your purpose in life. Such as looking back over your childhood and the things you wanted to be, and reading a list of verbs for words that really resonate with your heart, such as defend, inspire, implement, educate, compel, compose, direct, gather. And how to get in touch with what really 'makes you come alive.'
Cindi McMenamin points out that all these clues (and more) really help you discover what God has in mind for you. That as any (normal) daddy has a dream for his little girl, so does God have a dream for each of His daughters. And it is a dream that is as unique to each one as our individual finger prints.
You know, it doesn't matter what others have said or done to you, or if you've messed up your life somewhere along the way. Or if you're 50 or 60 or 70 years old and haven't discovered this dream yet for yoursel. It is still waiting to be discovered and fulfilled.
Really. I'm serious. No matter how you feel, the truth is God hasn't given up on you, so why should you? Why don't you start asking Him about it...again?

"It is great that America has been able to help so many other nations. It has been able to do so because it was first taking care of its own families and citizens. Now, in a time where we are facing an economic crisis, it is time to once again look at investing in America, so it can continue to help others as well. Thank you Sharon for showing ways Americans can support America during its time of weakness." -Scott Brown
