Mission: Christmas Care

We send Survival Bracelets, goodies & cards to Troops overseas at Christmas.

Thank You From our Troops #1
"I received one of your care packages the other day. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan and wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support. My fellow soldiers and I appreciate the homemade cookies and sentiment sent during this Holiday Season that we are spending away from home. I would also like to thank Sally Hopkins, whose card I received in the package, for her words of encouragement.  We are not authorized to distribute photographs of us while deployed outside of Official Channels via the Public Affairs Office at USASOC Command. I apologize for this, but I hope that the email can suffice to express our gratitude for all of your support. I hope you have a Merry Christmas. Thank you very much,  Tim.

Thanks to everyone who helped us send Survival Bracelets, homemade cookies, cards and other goodies to a whole Battalion of Special Forces Troops in Afghanistan this Christmas. Here's just one of the 'thank yous' we've received from them...

Welcoming Home our Troops

As we launched Operation Heartlift, it was a privilege to be able to join others who support our troops to welcome home troops from the 235th Sapper Co from Afghanistan for Thanksgiving, in our own hometown of Petaluma, CA.

They were so appreciative and surprised!  Helicopters, patriot guards, police and fire escorts, North Bay Patriots, Changing Worldviews' Operation Heartlift and MOMS, as well as friends and family were all there for the Welcome Home Party for these brave soldiers - 62 Purples Hearts and many other medals of valor.

Many well wishes were sent by those who were from out of town, such as:

Dawn Drago:
"As one who was raised in a military home, and then myself married a military man...I know that it will mean ALOT to those men and women who are coming home today from war wounded tired and missing their families to know that you appreciate them and their families for the sacrifices they have made for our country. I only wish more people would take that time also. These men and women don't have to sign up to do this with their life...they choose to serve their country and the people of this country with their very life."

I was able to talk with some of the soldiers, one of the Commanders, Leaders from Veterans organizations and patriots who came out with flags and signs and heartfelt 'thanks-giving' wishes.
We air their comments on our Special Thanksgiving Show with the Troops (see link below)  - hope you can tune in to hear their reactions. It was an awesome time.

Let's Talk Turkey About our Troops - Special Thankgiving Show

"The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war." –Douglas MacArthur

Dear Sharon,

I have been informed by the Children’s Services Dept. that approximately 4,000 kids who come out of the foster care system each year join the military because they don’t know what else to do. These young people usually don’t receive any mail or phone calls. When they go into a combat situation they have no one encouraging them and no one to come home to. Thousands What do they really want from us? Letters from home. Letters saying they are valuable, appreciated and respected.

Please help generate more mail. Thank you,

Respectfully yours,

The daughter of a soldier, the wife of a soldier and the mother of a soldier.

Cherri Gardner

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING
"Thank you, Sharon, for the role in which you provide a platform for Troops, as well as us Veterans, to be able to "Voice"; by allowing us to be part of something bigger than ourselves in making a difference in society and in our world. Again, Thank You." -Yolanda Jones, OIF Veteran & author of Scarred, But Not Broken"

"It is great that America has been able to help so many other nations. It has been able to do so because it was first taking care of its own families and citizens. Now, in a time where we are facing an economic crisis, it is time to once again look at investing in America, so it can continue to help others as well. Thank you Sharon for showing ways Americans can support America during its time of weakness." -Scott Brown
