Your Self - Spirit
A New You
Filling the Void

Martha Stewart came out with a new magazine several years ago called, Body and Soul, which advocates many of the practices common to Eastern mysticism. Oprah Winfrey does the same on your television station. More and more Hollywood stars are turning to Scientology. Despite 9/ll and the war on terror, more Islamic mosques are being built in America than churches. And women are asking questions. So, we at WOMANTalk have entered the dialogue to address the truth concerning spiritual matters.

Man is a tri-part being: Body, Soul and Spirit. Some mistake the mind or emotions for spirit. Actually, the mind, emotions and will are part of our soul. Our spirit is where God's Spirit lives in us when we invite Christ into our lives. Before we do that we can't hear God's direction, or commune with Him, although He wants that very much. It's like our spirit is a transistor radio without batteries. It doesn’t work until the batteries are added.

Many have described sensing a void or emptiness inside prior to receiving the Lord into their lives. But if we sincerely invite Him in He will definitely respond, and fill the empty void with His Spirit, His Life. The ‘batteries’ are added and our spirit turns on. We begin to see life in a new way, hear His voice and sense His guidance.

A couple of verses from the Bible related to this are:

"I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens to me, I will come in to him, and dine with him and he with me" -Revelations 3:20

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." - John 3:16

If you sense that void or emptiness inside and decide you want it filled, just take a moment, and with a sincere heart, ask Jesus to come into your life and He will, and open whole new life to you.

Billy Graham, one of the world's most recognized and honored spiritual leaders, and who has probably led more people than anyone else into this life-changing experience with Christ, offers an example of a simple prayer that you can say...

"Lord Jesus Christ, I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life. I ask for your forgiveness and now turn from everything which I know is wrong. Thank you for dying on the cross for me to set me free from my sins. Please come into my life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and be with me forever. Thank you Lord Jesus, Amen.”
