The Good Fight is a part of the Soldiers Handbook for War, written to inspire and encourage believers to contend earnestly for their faith. We encourage you to use theses tools as a personal devotional for insight and instruction and use every opportunity and “appliance for war”, as William Booth (Salvation Army) would say, recognizing the urgency of the hour.
In these critical days of deception and discouragement, we need to be more alert, more untied and more able than ever before, to speak to the issues of life and death with confidence.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” (2 Ti 4:7).
"I have fought the GOOD FIGHT". Paul recognized the difference between a fight worth taking on and one not worth addressing. He had “picked his battles” against false doctrine, false teachers, and warned the people that “in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,” (I Ti 4:1).
Sadly, the survival rate among closet and carnal Christians is low and many have already been swept away in lesser disputes. Still others have lost the faith altogether, and left the truth to take shelter in the temporary shelters of earthly escapes and virtual reality so “generously” provided by the Evil One.
Two verses to consider: “Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ and has given to the ministry of reconciliation, …therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us; we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.” (2 Cr 18 & 20).
Write your own understanding of How the LORD would have you act upon these words.
